Provider Pay-for-Performance (P4P) incentive programs continue to grow in popularity from 35 last year to 95 today. On the consumer transparency side, there are 17 national payer and purchaser initiatives involving the public display of provider performance results.
Mr. Baker and Dr. Brandman will present the latest results from 2004 Landmark Study mentioned recently in the Wall Street Journal. This session will cover trends, measures used, physician acceptance strategies, implications, and valuable lessons learned from the experiences of 50 P4P sponsors (health plans, government, and employer coalitions). Faculty will also share insights on how P4P sponsors are leveraging their P4P metrics for other strategic initiatives such as consumer transparency, narrow networks and clinical IT adoption electronic medical records (EMR), electronic prescriptions (eRx), registries, and electronic health records (EHRs) by providers.
