Sustaining the mission of providing improved health care to a greater number of people is becoming more and more difficult in today's environment of increasing service costs, escalating bad debt and pressure for greater community service accountability. Cash flow also continues to be squeezed by changes in health insurance coverage models, rising self pay and the costs associated with satisfying regulatory demands for meaningful transparency.
Faced with these issues, Mercy Health Partners analyzed their revenue cycle to uncover greater efficiencies. Additionally, Mercy implemented a tactfully aggressive point of service (POS) collections effort and set new goals for decreased bad debt and increased charity payments. Based on successes with new batch-processing software, Mercy Health Partners brought further revenue enhancement technology on-line, dramatically accelerating cash flow through more thorough critical data and eligibility verification methods.
During this Audio Webcast, Shari Bailey, Senior Director of Revenue Cycle for Mercy Health Partners, will discuss the key issues that convinced them to modernize their technology, the decisions necessary to define the direction of their solution and recorded financial gains to date. Rod Nicholls, Vice President of HTP, Inc., will review new administrative best practices for enabling revenue cycle management automation in health care.
