This Audio Webcast will focus on contract provisions where payors have developed stronger contract positions, including "no" responses to proposed contract changes. Such contract terms include payor indemnification, reasonable time frames for claims filing, evergreen provisions with modifications, the overall contract business model, payor definitions and affiliate language and state law attachments. Additional focus will also be centered around a better understanding of both payor and provider negotiating positions that help with ease of contract administration, such as use of identical language across all contracted products (eg. PPO, point of service, indemnity and HMO agreements) or applicable providers. You'll get access to sample language, along with suggested "work arounds" or alternative language proposals that foster accomplishing both provider and payor contractual goals. The Audio Webcast will also address payor perspectives on the use of a "termination notice" as a method for opening contract negotiations.

Additionally, this Audio Webcast will address the payor perspective in effectively dealing with brokers and specific plan requirements, such as required discount differentials, regardless of network size and appropriate level of service.

In contract negotiations, both providers and payors have priorities in their contracting objectives. Some of the priorities to be discussed are: competitive equity among payors, the relationship between payor and provider, contract payment rates, contract language, administration of the contract, and network configuration.

Finally, the Audio Webcast will include a brief discussion regarding pricing transparency and the potential legal pitfalls in transparency and the impact on contract negotiations.
